“Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.” – Matthew 4:4
Just as our bodies need food to grow, our spirits need nourishment from God’s Word. Spiritual hunger is a sign of life — and feeding on the Scriptures brings transformation, faith, and maturity.
God’s Word is alive and powerful (Hebrews 4:12). It’s not just ink on paper — it’s the voice of the Spirit. When we read the Bible, we’re encountering God Himself. The Scriptures renew our minds and build us up in truth.
Start small and stay consistent. Meditate on a verse. Listen to Scripture. Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you. The more we feed on the Word, the more we recognize the voice of our Shepherd and walk in His truth.
Ask the Holy Spirit:
Father, stir up in me a deeper hunger for Your Word. Help me not to settle for spiritual fast food when You’ve prepared a feast in Scripture. Teach me, guide me, and renew my mind. In Jesus’ name, amen.
What has God been speaking to you through His Word lately? How can you grow in consistency, joy, and understanding as you read Scripture?
